RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 143 – October 23, 2022 Dixie Vodka 400 – NASCAR Cup Series – Homestead Miami Speedway

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Kyle Larson scored his third win of the season Sunday in the Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead Miami Speedway. It was his 19th career NASCAR Cup Series victory.

Larson had dominated Homestead in the past, only to come up short at the finish; that was not the case this time. He swept both stages and led 199 of the 267 laps enroute to the win. The strength of the Larson car was his long run speed, but by the end of the day they even got the best of the field on a late race restart to secure the win.

While Larson is no longer in the running for the Driver’s Championship, his win did put Hendrick Motorsports in contention for the Owners crown. Ross Chastain was best of the Round of 8 Playoff drivers with a second place finisher with A.J. Allmendinger finishing third.
