RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 136: October 7, 2022 Puryear Tank Lines 225 – CARS Tour Late Model Stocks/Pro Late Models – Ace Speedway

ALTAMAHAW, N.C. – Kaden Honeycutt won the 125-lap Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour Late Model Stock feature Friday, part of the Puryear Tank Lines 225 at Ace Speedway. It was his third career series victory and first of the 2022 season.

Honeycutt started second alongside polesitter Ryan Millington, with Millington getting the early advantage. On lap 35 Honeycutt maneuvered into the top spot. Mid-race restarts were very competitive with Honeycutt and Millington racing side-by-side for multiple laps, each taking turns at the point.

Ultimately Honeycutt got the upper hand as Millington faded. Late in the race Chad McCumbee closed and challenged for the lead in lapped traffic, but his effort halted with mechanical problems. At the finish it was Honeycutt with the win over Josh Berry and Connor Hall.

Caden Kvapil didn’t have the fastest car in the 75-lap CARS Pro Late Model Tour, what he did have was good short run speedway and he survived multiple late-race restarts to get his second series win of the season.

Other winners were Gary Causey in the 30-lap Modified race, Dillon Harville in the 30-lap Limited Latel Model feature, Michael Tucker in the 30-lap Mini Stock event with Brian Hutcherson winning in Champ Karts.
