RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 124: September 11, 2022 Hollywood Casino 400 – NASCAR Cup Series – Kansas Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Bubba Wallace drove to the win Sunday in the Hollywood Casino 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway. It was his second career series victory.

Wallace started sixth and was a solid top-10 car for the first two stages of the race. Great pit work and a fast car moved him forward in the final stage; he took the lead for the first time on lap 200 of the 267-lap race. He led until a cycle of green flag pitstops and when that sequence ended was back in front.

From there it was maintaining his advantage through traffic over the final 43 laps to the victory. Wallace became the second non-Playoff driver to win in a row after Erik Jones accomplished that at Darlington.

Denny Hamlin finished second with Christopher Bell third. With non-Playoff drivers winning the first two races, and based on strong finishes Christophe Bell is the only driver locked into the Round of 12 as the series heads to Bristol.
