RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 122: September 9, 2022 Kansas Lottery 200 – NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – Kansas Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – John Hunter Nemechek won Friday’s Kansas Lottery 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway. It was his second win of the season and 13th career series victory.

Nemechek had the dominant truck, leading 88 of the 134 laps, but had to make a last-lap pass for the victory. Carson Hocevar made a long-shot strategy call to pit early try to outrun the field to the finish. That bid, which would have locked him into the next round of the playoffs, came up one lap short with the Nemechek pass.

For Nemechek, the victory sends him into the “Round of 8” with momentum. For Hocevar, his fourth second-place finish meant eliminations for the 2022 NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs. Ryan Preece had a solid run throughout the night finishing third.
