RACE RECAP: 2022 Race No. 103: August 11, 2022 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars – Knoxville Nationals Prelim Night 2 – Knoxville Racew

KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Jacob Allen scored his first Knoxville Raceway victory Wednesday in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drinks Sprint Cars preliminary night for the Knoxville Nationals. His teammate Logan Schuchart won the Wednesday prelim making it a Shark Racing sweep.

Allen started on the front row and quickly assumed the top spot at the drop of the green. He led the first three-quarters of the race comfortably, but the final portion was anything but comfortable. Three-time Series Champion and former Nationals winner Brad Sweep closed in on Allen over the final five laps.

The duo navigated inside and outside lapped traffic and each other, with Allen getting the nod by less than a second at the end of the 25-lap feature.

Not only was the victory special in that it was Allen’s first; but also, he was carrying the No. 1A colors his father, and team owner, and sprint car Hall of Famer Bobby Allen used when winning the 1980 Knoxville Nationals.

Sweet held on for second with Carson Macedo third.
