Race 90 – July 16, 2022 Saturday Night Weekly Races – Five Mile Point Speedway, Kirkwood, N.Y.

KIRKWOOD, N.Y. – P.J. Goodwin raced to victory Saturday night in the 30 lap Modified feature at Five Mile Point Speedway. The victory was special as Goodwin was using a steering wheel formerly used by family friend and mentor, the late Mike Colsten.

Goodwin started on the front row and took the lead right at the drop of the green. He survived a couple of mid-race restarts, each time able to get the advantage once the green flag waved again.

Justin Holland won a spirited battle for second in the late going and tracked down Goodwin by the end but was not able to mount a challenge. He settled for second with Aleia Geisler third.

Other winners were; Gary Smith in the 20 lap Crate Sportsman feature, Jon Carpenter in the 20 lap Street Stock feature, Charlie Towner in the 20 lap Factory Stock race, Danelle Smith in the 20 lap Future Sportsman feature, and Jared Green in the 600 Modified race.

Front Wheel Driver Four Cylinder winners were Mike Ferris in the 20 lap Expert division and Todd Maynard in the 15-lap Novice division.
