2022 Race No. 65: May 28, 2022 Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions – Weikert Memorial – Port Royal Speedway
PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Anthony Macri won a thriller Saturday in the Weikert Memorial opening night 30-lap feature at Port Royal Speedway for the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1. It was his third All Star win of the season and his fourth Port Royal win of 2022.
The race came down to a four-lap action packed battle between Macri and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver Lance Dewease. Coming to the white flag Macri put a slide job on Dewease in turn four to take the top spot. Dewease countered with an inside move into the first and second turns.
The duo raced side-by-side on the backstretch and into turn three. Dewease surged ahead on the inside, but the outside momentum favored Marci off the final corner; and he won the race to the finish line, a win worth $10,000.
Dewease settled for second with Danny Dietrich, who led the first 24 laps, finishing third.
Garrett Bard continued his winning ways getting his fourth straight River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series victory in their 20-lap feature.
