2022 Race No. 51: May 6, 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – Dead On Tools 200 – Darlington Raceway

John Hunter Nemechek picked up his first win of the season in the Dead On Tools 200 at Darlington Raceway Friday night. It was his 12th career series victory.

Nemechek won the pole position and led early in the 147-lap race. A different pit strategy followed by an additional pit stop for a loose wheel put him deep in the field early in the second stage of the race. A strong truck and solid pit work from that point put him back in contention and on lap 123 he was back to the lead. A lead he never gave up.

Carson Hocevar was strong all race and finished second with Grant Enfinger third.

Friday’s race was the seventh of the season for the series that kicks into high gear with a run of eight-straight races. Next week the series is at Kansas Speedway.
