2022 Race No. 48: May 1, 2022 NASCAR Cup Series – DuraMAX Drydene 400 – Dover Motor Speedway

Chase Elliott drove to victory in the DuraMAX Drydene 400 NASCAR Cup Series Race at Dover Motor Speedway. It was his 14th career victory and his first win in 2022

The 400-lap race started Sunday, but rain at lap 78 postponed it to Monday afternoon. Denny Hamlin, Ross Chastain and Kyle Busch all took turns leading the race. On lap 322 leader Busch hit pit road for his final pit stop, under green flag conditions when an untimely caution trapped him behind. On the restart Elliott got the upper hand on Chastain and led the final 53 laps for the win.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr had his best run of the season to finish second with Chastain finishing third.

With the win, Elliott maintained his point lead and also completed the Hendrick Motorsport goal of all four cars winning races.
